2020 led us to a massive shift in the way we think about marketing. With physical meetings, seminars, and trade shows being canceled across the globe, webinars were suddenly the hottest way to reach audiences. And rightly so! Webinars opened a window to a whole new world of connecting with people, building a great database, and effective communication which was the need of the hour. 

We have seen a massive surge in webinars by all types of organizations, whether small or large. Some companies have got it absolutely right. However, some have not seen as much success. So why is that? What makes a webinar tick? Here at Isra, we fall in the former category – webinars have been a wonderful addition to the services we already offer. Not only did it help us pivot in times of crisis, but it also opened new avenues of business entirely! And hence, we’d like to share our learnings with you.

6 strategies to planning a perfect webinar 

1. Subject is everything!
   When you plan your webinar, ensure that you are choosing a specific subject. Generic topics do not garner as much attention. Ensure that the subject is interesting, relevant to the times, and gives the audience something actionable so that they can use the information beyond just attending the session.
   
2. Focus on the presentation
   You will definitely need a visually attractive presentation, whether its in the form of slides, videos or whatever format you prefer. Spend the time and effort to create your content in a way that will keep the audiences’ attention on you, through the entire duration.
   
3. Schedule the right time slot
   A little research on your target audience will go a long way in deciding the best time to conduct the webinar. Ensure the time slot is convenient for your audience for maximum attendance and a low drop-out rate.
   
4. Promotion and marketing
   Once you have the content and time slots decided, go all out in putting the word out on your webinar. Use emails, social media channels and personal messages inviting those you think will potentially benefit from your webinar. Consider creating lucrative packages so that the audience can get maximum out of what they are spending. This will encourage more sign-ups – a win-win for all!
   
5. Space, surroundings, and technology are key
   To conduct a perfect webinar, the surroundings/venue have to be thought through. Pick a pleasant and professional background that creates the right atmosphere, with enough light and good acoustics. Run technical checks on your audio and video. Make sure all the features of sharing your presentation, live streaming and chat are working well to avoid any glitches on the final day.
   
6. Engage with the audience
   Lastly, but most importantly, your aim must be to make the audience love you! There is nothing more interesting than personal anecdotes, a good conversation, and some banter. A one-way delivery of information is a thing of the past. You will be surprised as to how much you can learn from your audience once you interact with them at a deeper level.
