I know for a fact that this kind of thinking can only lead to intense frustration, feeling victimised, unheard, unacknowledged, insecure, triggered, drained, powerless and constantly on the edge.

Once we feel strong, centred and enabled within, our experience in the external world transforms completely. Self-love is the process of truly knowing ourselves. It is embracing who we are, and being gentle with our shortcomings. It also means releasing past baggage and treating ourselves with kindness and respect. And that is what flows out from us into everything we do, and all the relationships we hold. 

While most of us hope and wait for the right mentor, a great boss, a positive work environment, supportive colleagues, sensitive HR practices and more, to help us feel empowered, this wait can last forever.
